Angkor Wat - sunrise

So the first stop on the tour was Siem Reap to see the famous Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is the largest Hindu temple complex in the world. Built by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre since its foundation. It has become a national symbol, appearing on the countries flag and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors.
So we decided to do the touristy thing of going for sunrise so a 4am start for Rach and I it was!!

This is the shot most people want - the reflection in the water in front of the temple.

Rachael and I at sunrise, not looking too bleary eyed and below the hundreds of other tourists that were there too and this is low season!!

Of course it wouldn't of been a trip without Queenie coming on board....

Rachael and I with Angkor Wat in the background.

Queenie with all the tourists and below Queenie in front of Angkor Wat.. surprisingly Rachael thinks I am slightly mad taking Queenie everywhere.....
