Temples of Angkor....

Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 km2, including forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century. They include the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its countless sculptural decorations.
So after seeing Angkor Wat, our tuk-tuk driver took us to visit some of the others and we had a lovely time wondering around the forest and finding ruins everywhere. My favourite temple is the Bayon temple with all the faces, however my camera broke at that point for an hour or so, luckily Rach had her trusty iphone on her!
So we went from Angkor Wat to Angkor Thom and the Bayon temple, Tao Keo, Ta Prohm and Banteay Kdei and then headed back to the hotel where we were still in time for breakfast at 11.30am - result!!

I would like to go back if I get a chance and see some more of the city and the many other temples and ruins that are there but I think the 6 hours we spent were enough for a taster especially as we had so much more to fit into such a small amount of time.
