Bamboo Bridge - Kampong Cham

Think I have mentioned the Bamboo Bridge before in one of the blogs. Every year in the dry season a bamboo bridge is built over the Mekong to one of the islands just off Kampong Cham - it replaces the ferry until the wet season starts again, when it gets washed away and the ferry starts again.
Well it is being built at the mo - saw the start of it last weekend - they were building a section of it in the middle of the Mekong first and now they have started build from this side of the river as well - hopefully it should be finished in a week or so.

So you can see both sections of it here - it is yet to be joined to the other shore yet.

Middle section that was built first.
You can see the start of it here from this shore which is next to the pontoon, that you can see with the bikes on, which is where the ferry goes from at the moment - it is the ferry that started my motobike trip last weekend.

Everything will be traveling across this - motobikes, bikes, cars, horse & cart and cars!!
