Roadside cafe

No Little Chefs or M&S service stations here - on our visit to the project last week we stopped to have lunch at a cafe on the side of the road and when we finished eating I asked what we were going to do next, the response was 'we're going to relax under the palm trees and drink coconuts' now I thought they were being ironic - but no I should of known better as they don't quite get irony over here - we actually were going to go and relax and drink coconuts!
Yep along the road here they have little shelters made from palm leaves and wood and underneath are lots of hammocks and a lovely lady with a whole stash of coconuts on ice ready for her to lop the top off, put a straw in and bring to you while you lazy in a hammock.

Hammocks for lazing in for an hour or so

Other roadside cafes offer sweetcorn on the cob that has been cooked over the fire, cooked bananas - thread on to a stick and cooked over a bbq - so the choice is yours as what to have but they all have hammocks.

Mmmm

Beats a view of the motorway!

All the old coconut shells out the back

The above photo is of some fruit that I am still trying to figure out what it is called - it is small with a crisp skin you bite off that leaves a furry fruit inside which has a pip as well - a lot of hassle to eat for not much return and the flavour is strange.....
