Healthy & Safety - Cambodian Style

To all you Health and Safety officers out there look away now as you might get twitchy and your note pad might come out!
There is a lot of building going on here in Kampong Cham - they are trying to make it a 'go to' destination within Cambodia instead of just a transit stop on the way to other places.
This has led to many people being re-located away from the riverside but more of that in another post later.
So with building comes scaffolding - and this is the way they do it over here!!  Bambootastic - it is a good job that bamboo is extremely strong - not sure about the twine though that they tie it together with.

What you can just about make out on the left of this last photo is the pully that they use to lift all the materials up form the street with, it is attached to the scaffolding and everytime they pull a bucket up the whole scaffolding starts to sway slightly! It is quite impressive seeing the builders shimmy up the bamboo as well...
